The Gary Speed super injunction
In this post News of the World, Leveson "McCarthy" inquiry witch hunt, the media has gone very quiet on the suicide of footballer, manager and all round good guy Gary Speed.
As has been reported by his friends and colleagues, Speed was a model human being with no trace of manic or clinical depression. His sudden suicide has been commented on as odd.
Whether it is in the public interest to know the reasons is a moot point, but he was high profile and in days gone by we would all know why. The media, as reported in the Times and Daily Mail, are too scared to mention anything. Is this because there is a super injunction out or Leveson has instilled fear into the UK press?
So when we hear the Sun or the Star was ready to print a story that Speed was gay or having an affair with a Welsh football player or his wife was having a 10 year plus affair with an ex team player and had fathered the son Speed doted on, we all left with hear say, gossip and innuendo.
